What I thought of the book:

What a wonderful book! This story really talks to children about not giving up when they are told no. It really reminded me of She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World by Chelsea Clinton. Tallulah will not give up on her dream of playing the tuba, even when her teacher tells her she’s just too small. The story was so adorable and Tallulah’s ideas to overcome her challenges were enchanting.

What’s this book about, anyway?

Tallulah wants to play the Tuba. Her music teacher continues to tell her she is too small. Tallulah is so determined to fix that! She eats well and exercises, but alas, she does not get bigger. Her teacher has her try other instruments, but none of them make the sound she wants to make with the tuba. Finally, she has an idea, and has found that she wasn’t too small, the tuba was too big, but “She fixed that.” My 6 year old just loved this book! It has great illustrations and a great story about not giving up. I would recommend to any young child!
