Caraval by Stephanie Garber (Caraval #1)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

My Thoughts:

What I Loved: I loved the complete mystery of this book. The game surrounding this story just blew me away. Also, isn’t the cover just beautiful! It’s one of my favorite covers!

How I Felt: I was completely enraptured in this story. I was so worried for Tella. Scarlett was so frustrating; she wanted to do this so bad, and yet everything seems to go horribly wrong.

To Read or Not To Read: This is a young adult genre book, but don’t let that deter you. This book encompasses magic, romance, and mystery. It’s a great book, and BONUS, it is a series if that interests you!

What’s This Book About Anyway?

Scarlett has always dreamed of leaving her small island to attend Caraval, a performance like no other. The audience participates, things seem magical, it’s THE place she wants to go. Her father has arranged a marriage for her, but received her Caraval invitation!! Scarlett and her sister, Tella, sneak off the island with the assistance of a sailor. Now she must face the real Caraval, the mystique is not quite what she thought it would be, it feels much more dangerous. Tella has become a part of the game. Whoever finds her first, wins.
