The River Fairy’s Wish: A Lyrical Fairy Tale by Cyrena Shows

I was provided this ARC by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

What My Child Thought:

She loved that this story centered around a fairy. She is also a big fan of books like Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly and The River Fairy’s Wish had the same repetitive wording. Where it starts with one thing, and then it repeats that one thing and adds another, and then adds another and repeats the first two things. She adored the illustrations in this book. They were very colorful and vibrant.

What I Thought:

I liked the story, and I liked that while this book did have some of the repetitive lines, it also broke from that halfway through the story, and it made me love the story so much more. The illustrations were quite beautiful and the story was one that was full of fantasy and wishes that little children love.

What’s This Book About Anyway?

The River Fairy’s Wish is about a Princess of the River Fairy’s that wishes to be a human girl. She has a wish saved in her crown. She uses the wish to become a human girl, enjoying the sunshine on her face, and while she does, the River Fairies continue to watch their Princess even though she doesn’t remember.
