The Thinnest Air by Minka Kent

Rating: 3 out of 5.

My Thoughts:

What I Loved:

Minka Kent writes a thrilling novel that keeps you guessing with each chapter and turn of events. Her writing did not leave a lot of down time, which I really appreciate in a thriller.

How I Felt:

I was really disappointed in the overall plot and resolution of this book. The ending felt so rushed. Everything leading up to this was so interesting and timed well, but then I felt like everything just got crammed together and I didn’t have time to savor the best parts.

I did enjoy the story being told from two points of view at different times. Greer’s story is told as the story of the disappearance is unfolding, while Meredith’s story starts years before at her marriage and leads us up to her disappearance. It made for such an interesting story line.

To Read or Not To Read:

If you enjoy Minka Kent, this will be a good read for you. Overall, it was an interesting thriller, the ending just did not live up to my expectations based on the rest of the book.

What’s This Book About Anyway?

Meredith Price has disappeared. Her car, purse, and phone are found in a parking lot, but she is gone.

Her sister, Greer comes to Meredith’s home to find out what is happening and help with the investigation in any way she can. Greer is at odds with Meredith’s husband, leading to version tense moments between the two. Greer befriends a police officer that is willing to let her help out.

The Thinnest Air takes the reader on a fast-paced search for the missing Meredith while giving well-developed background on the characters.

Where did Meredith go? Will Greer be able to find and save her?
