What I Loved:
I loved that this book was a bit out of my comfort zone and I read it and it was wonderful and fun!
How I Felt:
The Writing: The Voyage is Douglas Falk’s debut novel and I was really impressed with his writing. I found the story to be well put together without confusing story-lines or major plot holes. As a less-scholarly person, there were a lot of references to scientists and adventurers that I didn’t know of. I googled the ones that I felt I needed to know, and just moved forward in the story for the ones I didn’t. Overall, I didn’t feel that it detracted from the story or my understanding of the book.
The Plot: Oh this story was FUN! The world is flat and we all just don’t know it. It’s a major government conspiracy. This story had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t wait to find out the truth! The Voyage unraveled quickly with a story that I couldn’t let go of. It was filled with drama and excitement and I didn’t want it to end.
Overall, I found this to be a well-written, exciting story that truly made me think and I enjoyed that. It is worth the read!
To Read or Not To Read:
I highly recommend for readers that enjoy thrillers as well as a science or political view from a book. Readers that enjoyed the Da Vinci Code would probably enjoy this!
