What I Loved:
The Underground Toy Society is such a fun story of a group of toys making their own adventures and finding lost friends. I loved how the story unfolded in this book. I thought it was so cute that the toys were separated, missed each other, and were determined to reunite!
How I Felt:
I really enjoyed this story overall. I loved that there was a backstory built around the toys and then a problem arises for them to solve.
I really enjoyed the second half of the story. The toys owners have grown up and moved into different homes, separating the toys from each other. As the toys miss their other toy friends, they become determined to find one another. I loved the idea of building these underground tunnels to find one another. My favorite part though, is that they didn’t stop once they had found their friends. Instead, they continue to find more friends and help others reunite.
Overall, this was an adorable book that my daughter really enjoyed. I think that this is a great story that any child would enjoy.
To Read or Not To Read:
I would recommend The Underground Toy Society for young readers that enjoy a story being read to them. My six-year old enjoyed this book, but it is too complicated to read on her own. If you have an older child that is reading small chapter books on their own, they would enjoy this story.
