Raghnall’s Revenge by Shauna Richmond

What I Loved:

I absolutely adore the mythical setting for this story! Raghnall’s Revenge is the follow-up book to The Wrath of Raghnall and it absolutely killed it! It’s filled with magical creatures, revenge, and love.

How I Felt:

The story picks up from the end of the last book, continuing in the House of Raghnall’s quest for revenge. Shauna Richmond has the ability to pull the reader right into the story, and while it is a hefty sized book, you don’t realize it as the pages seem to just fly by!

Raghnall’s Revenge is a story of . . . revenge😉. I love the way the author weaves the brutal actions into the story. As I read this book, I had that feeling I would get while reading (or watching) Game of Thrones. The ruthless actions perfectly fit the scene and setting for the story, and it was quite engaging! There are a ton of secrets that are revealed, and the twists that Richmond carefully weaves into the story makes this a page-turner!

Richmond has created these absolutely fabulous characters in the book. I felt like I got to know them quite well in the first book, but she found a way to delve deeper in book 2. The characters continued to grow, and I enjoyed learning more about them. Even the evil characters create a connection with the reader, a negative one, but that’s what you want!

Overall, Raghnall’s Revenge is a wonderful follow-up to the first book in this series. The story is well-written and draws the reader in. The characters have started to feel like old friends, and enemies, and are full of personality!

To Read or Not To Read:

I would recommend Raghnall’s Revenge for readers that enjoy a fantasy series with a lot of action! If you enjoy the Game of Thrones series or stories about Vikings, you might enjoy this!

Raghnall’s Revenge is the second book in this saga, but I feel that it could be read as a stand-alone. There is enough backstory provided that a new reader would not be lost while reading. I would highly recommend the first book, however, as it was so enjoyable. You can see my review here.
