The Magic Misfits: The Fourth Suit by Neil Patrick Harris

If you like magic, friends, excitement, and adventure, this is the perfect series for you or your middle-grade reader! I found this book to be absolutely captivating!

This is the first book that I have read in The Magic Misfits series, and I was SO appreciative that the book lends itself to someone jumping into the series! There’s a “Stop! Halt! Who Goes There!” at the beginning that wonderfully catches a reader up on who the characters are in the book. I loved that!

The characters are so endearing, I felt myself connecting to them so easily! I loved Ridley. She is smart, quite funny, and very loyal to her friends. She’s also tough on herself, and sees when she has wronged someone. I really appreciated that quality in her. It made her feel so real.

The story is quite exciting, and had me captivated from page one…well even before that because I quite enjoyed the “Stop! Halt! Who Goes There!” section. I thought that Neil Patrick Harris really created narration in the story that brought me in. I wasn’t an outsider reading the story, I was there, in the rooms, the train, where the character was, I was there.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book! As I haven’t read the entire series yet, I can’t recommend the others quite yet, but I’ll say that I bet they are just as good!
