Where to Find This Book:
What advice would you like to give to a kid or an adult who wants to begin his career in your field?
Do not give up. There are going to be a lot of people that say it is too hard to break into or you will not make money, or it is not a career it is a hobby. Do not listen to them and follow your gut, follow your dream. Maybe do it on the side like I did but if it is a dream you have, you find a way to make it happen no matter what. Always follow your dreams and do not ever give up.
What is the name of that one book which you can read it anytime, any day and anywhere?
Definitely Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I have read it twice and I am considering reading it again. It is my favorite book of all time and hopefully one day he will write another chapter in the story.
What was your family’s reaction when you decided that you want to be an author/ a writer?
I think my family was excited but nervous for me. I did not tell anyone but one person I even wrote the manuscript. The one family member was super supportive and proofread my manuscript for me which really helped to boost my confidence. Once I got that first offer is when I told everyone. They were so excited and happy for me. My friends too have been amazing and supportive, and I could not be more grateful to have the family and friends I do.
What is next for you?
Next is my second book in the series is being dropped on April 2, 2021 just in time for Autism Awareness month. I really hope to show with this second book another adventure or activity that little ones with Autism can do and not be afraid of judgement. I also have two other projects in the works that I am proud of. I wrote my family history into a story and will be putting it into publication, and I cannot wait to get the illustration process started. I also wrote the third installment in my short story series about the silly shenanigans my cats get into called Rascal Cat brothers. All three can be read on medium @ljayauthor or vocal. I plan to turn them into a short story book when I have four or more and put illustrations in. Hoping to have that done later this year too. Keep up on my social media and website for all these fun things coming and more books in the Let’s Talk series.
