This is an adorable story of a little dog, Bentley who thinks that his friends have all forgotten his birthday. We alternate between Bentley’s perspective as he looks for his friends and Tia, his Fairy Dogmother has she plans a surprise party for him.
This is the first book in the series that I have read, and my daughter was a bit confused at first because we didn’t have some of the backstory from the previous book. There is a Fairy Dogmother and a magic stick that were in introduced in the first book. Once we read a few pages, it all made sense, and it was quite a cute story. I don’t think it’s necessary to start at the first book, but it would provide some context on the characters.
The story is fun and easy to understand. Bentley is an adorable character, and you just want everything to work out for him! The illustrations are great and really help to tell the story!
