Well, this book was fan-freaking-tastic! I loved the high-level action and energy right from the beginning! It’s got some twists, some secrets and some great storytelling!

Told through the alternating perspectives of a husband and a wife, we start the story with the husband’s discovery that his wife and two children are missing from their hotel room. He’s convinced they have been kidnapped because his son’s teddy bear was left behind. We follow him as he works with the hotel and police to discover that it looks like his wife left voluntarily. Rating: 5 out of 5.

At the end of this book, there is an author’s note, and Sally Hepworth thanks her publishing partners for sticking with her even through her bad books…well I sure haven’t found one of those yet! This book was fantastic! Full of twists and turns, but also building some beautiful characters with backstories and growth journeys, this is an amazing book!

This story is told from the perspective of three women: Tully, Rachel, and Heather. Rachel and Tully are sisters. Their mom has dementia, and their dad has just announced that he’s divorcing their mom to marry Heather, a woman who could be Rachel and Tully’s sister.

Secrets of Our House by Rea Frey

This is a story filled with secrets. A family living. . . tiptoeing around each other and finding themselves weighed down by their hidden things.

The story is told by alternating between the voice of Desi (the mom) and Jules (the daughter). Desi isn’t an incredibly likable character, and yet I was very interested in her perspective. I really enjoyed Jules as a character. I wanted everything to work out for her, and I found myself connecting with her easily.

The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose

Rating: 5 out of 5.

What a crazy, awesome story! This was a murder-mystery/wrongfully accused/legal thriller/domestic thriller mash-up, and I loved it!

Adam is having an affair.
His mistress is found dead in his lakehouse bed.
Adam is arrested.
His wife, a top defense attorney, becomes his lawyer.
Adam swears he didn’t do it.

That’s the main idea of this one. If Adam isn’t the murderer, who is? They need to work fast because he’s getting charged with murder and the prosecution is pushing for the death penalty.
